Why do my new keys look the same as my old keys?

Keys may appear to be the same, but they are not!

When rekeying your locks, you might observe that your new operating keys closely resemble your old ones. Although they look similar, the cuts on the new keys are actually 1/8th of an inch different compared to the old keys.

This slight modification is crucial, as it allows the new keys to operate the lock while rendering the old keys ineffective. During the rekeying process, a small pin is removed, which enables this change to take place.
